DUKE RIM FURY JACK SLS2 6TERS*
Made for Enduro Race, it's the predilection wheel of Rémy Absalon, Mégavalanche 2017 winner, its high profile gives it an incomparable style. The Hookless side, coupled with its height of 24mm(front) & 22mm (rear) increase its rigidity and its resistance to the impacts. You will understand, it is the ultimate weapon to chase the time of the stages while saving on the links. Thought for the Enduro World Series. Designed, developed and tested in France, The DUKE Fury Jack in carbon has an ASYMMETRICAL profile (offset of 3 mm) which allows to increase the lateral stiffness of the wheel without gaining weight. The internal width between the hooks / large walls is 32.5mm(front) & 29mm(rear). This gives more volume to the tires and improves efficiency, comfort and grip in turns. A wide rim also means being able to use thinner and lighter tires while maintaining comfort, The softness and grip provided by a larger volume of air. Hookless sides: the robustness of the rim is superior compared to a carbon rim with hooks. This technology has been used successfully on our rims since 2011. The height of the rim edge for 2015 is reduced by 1mm to further limit any risk of contact with the ground. Lateral stiffness improved by 40% compared to the previous version. Resistant to impacts even on the most brittle ground: Absorption of impact energy improved by more than 50% compared to the previous model. Anti-burp system: the heel of the tire is held in position whatever its pressure, no risk of "out rim". Tubeless or inner tube.

In 2019, MTB rims profiles are differentiated as we do not ask the rims the same qualities while riding :
A front wheel must give grip, be light, stiff and handy.
A rear wheel must be more comfortable, tronger and offer more efficiency.
Thus the front and rear wheels have different profiles and lay-ups.
In collaboration with Rémy and Julien Absalon, the 6TERS front and rear profiles complement each other for a greater efficiency in the trails.
Many of you are aware of different needs because you are already using different section tires at front and rear wheel.
The Duke 6TERS* concept offers a wider front rim than the rear rim for more grip and stiffness. Its weight is optimized for robustness.
The rear profile is reworked with a reduced section, with a new carbon fiber layer to improve compliance and increase the impact resistance, the constraints being much more important on the back wheel.
SLS2 Factory Process ‘19
All our carbon MTB rims now benefit from the manufacturing process tested and approved by the 2018 Super Light Series, which offers a 10% gain in rim’s weight.
This manufacturing process goes even further today as it is now made under dust-free laboratory and no longer requires sanding nor painting.
SLS2 products have an excellent aesthetic appearance, right out of the mold.
As no longer painted, the rims can not be scratched.
Impact resistance is not left out, since it is also improved by 20%.
SLS2 rims are built from UD carbon fiber only.

Technology

  • VFP (Varnish Free Process)

    Since 2021, our carbon rims benefit from a unique finish: incomparable brilliance and reflections thanks to a new process called VFP without varnish. This, also and above all, makes them more environmentally friendly by drastically reducing VOC and carbon dust emissions compared with a traditional rim. Without varnish, the rim is also harder on the surface, and more resistant to scratches.

  • SLS2 Super Light Serie 2

    The SLS series for MTB is 10% lighter and stronger than the sls version, while maintaining exactly the same stiffness. This gain is due to a new material.
    In addition to these improved characteristics, the SLS2 is also manufactured under a sealed atmosphere and does not require any retouching when it comes out of the mould. No sanding or varnishing, the glossy finish is exceptional!

  • 6Ters

    6TERS is a concept of MTB rims differentiated between front and rear: a front wheel must maximize grip (inner width +), handling (rotational weight -) and control (lateral stiffness -). A rear wheel must provide traction, comfort (vertical stiffness-), stability (lateral stiffness +), efficiency (inside width -) and be stronger (reinforcements). Developed in collaboration with Julien Absalon (five-time world champion).

  • AntiBurp

    Thanks to this antiburp, the tire bead is held in position at all low pressures and under all loads, so there's no risk of the bead sliding off the rim or losing pressure even when cornering hard. Two edges prevent the tire beads from sliding horizontally towards the inside of the rim. Even after a puncture, the tire stays in place on the rim

  • Tubeless

    Our Tubeless compatible rims (UST, Tubeless Ready and Notubes), only require some Duke rim tape and a Tubeless-ready valve. They can also be used in a classic clincher set up (tyre & inner tube).

  • Ultimate Comfort

    Thanks to the latest innovations and our research into composite material, we have been able to develop a unique process that maximizes compliance and absorbs vibrations. The result is an ultra-dynamic rim that filters out the imperfections of the terrain to be appreciated whatever the distance.

  • Offset

    Rim offset increases lateral stiffness and wheel stability without adding weight. The rim holes are off-center, improving the spokes brace angles. By better balancing the tensions between the two spoke sides, the wheel's durability is enhanced.

  • Width

    A wider rim provides greater comfort for the same tire cross-section, thanks to the greater volume of air in the tire. No need to inflate so much! The greater volume also enhances performance and grip. The bike's stability when cornering is also improved: a wider inner width reduces tire rolling under the rim under lateral loads. Using a wide rim improves comfort and control.
